Jemez Valley Community Association

JVCAThe Jemez Valley Community Association is dedicated to the enhancement of life in the Jemez Valley for residents and visitors alike. By coordinating with other organizations in the area, the JVCA provides a framework for volunteers, businesses, and government agencies to cooperate to the benefit of all citizens.

If you would like to be involved, come to one of our meetings. Please check the calendar (on the menu above) for meeting dates.  Meeting times and places are also usually listed in the "Community Calendar" of the Jemez Thunder newspaper. All are welcome. The JVCA sponsors many events throughout the year such as Earth Day celebrations, Independence Day celebrations in Jemez Springs (Parade, Arts and Craft Show, Music, Fireworks), the fall Jemez Valley Trail Sale, winter Jemez Monument Farolito/Luminaria Tour, and Horse-drawn Hay-ride from the Village Park.

Look for print and radio ads promoting various activities during the year.

Code Red Notification

Sandoval County and the city of Rio Rancho have setup a rapid emergency notification system called "Code Red."  Sandoval County residents can join for free.  Once you enter your contact information, you will receive a recorded message when the system is activated.

Examples of situations when the CodeRED system may be utilized:

  • Fires or Floods
  • Evacuation notice & route
  • Drinking water contamination
  • Missing person
  • Bomb threat
  • Hostage situation
  • Chemical spill or Gas leak
  • Utility outage
  • Other emergency incidents where rapid and accurate notification is essential for safety of human life.

Sandoval County Code Red

Note: You can put a work number or a cell number that will automatically receive the same recorded message when your home number is called with an emergency message.  It is just one more way to quickly get emergency information out to people.
