sweet-raku.jpg (9525 bytes)Linda studied ceramics in Faenza, Italy at the Institute of Ceramic Art, and has been working in clay for over 25 years. The pottery is made with white or red stoneware and is fired to 2100 degrees. It's either thrown on the potter's wheel or constructed from slabs and is decorated in a variety of lead-free glazes.

All functional pieces are safe to use in oven, microwave, and dishwasher.

sweet-ravenna.jpg (10339 bytes)The raku pieces are fired in the ancient method of the Japanese tradition. The pot is removed red hot from the kiln, placed in a chamber of combustible material and smothered, resulting in a variety of glazed surfaces and a blackened clay body.

The Ravenna plaque is a classic figurative representation of Eros. Reminiscent of the Greco-Roman style, each piece is handcrafted and is a unique reproduction of the original  plaque Linda found in the antique market of Ravenna, Italy.
