Local Weather
Jemez Springs is located in the mountains of northern New Mexico at an elevation of approximately 6,300' and experiences a wide range of weather conditions. First frost typically occurs mid-November, with heavy snow storms throughout the winter and the last frost around mid-April. The average coldest month is January. In summer, sporadic mid-afternoon rain showers occur mid-June through the end of August. Daily temperatures average in the high 80's with the average warmest month being July. Of course these are only estimates. Weather conditions can vary widely throughout the Valley. It can be sunny at the south end of the canyon while it is snowing only 10 miles up-canyon, to the north.
