The Jemez Springs Performing Arts Center promotes the creation,
performance, and appreciation of the performing arts and fosters
associated community growth. The Center supports both local and
non-resident artists in order to establish Jemez Springs, New Mexico
as a cultural resource center and as a means of attracting sustainable
business development to the Jemez Valley.
Founded
in 2008 by musician David Salazar, Tony C'DeBaca, Steve Preteska,
and Gina Torres and the Village of Jemez Springs, the Center supports
performing artists by offering an inspirational venue located in
the beautiful Jemez Mountains. The Center encourages the enjoyment
of the natural and cultural environment found in this rural community
while preserving the qualities that make it such a unique stimulus
for the creation of the performing arts.
The Performing Arts Center recently hosted the Jemez Springs
Music Festival on June 20, 2009. The concert was a successful
community event and is expected to occur same time in 2010. For
